Dirge for those that lost their life in Enugu and Agatu

Has ‘Living fire begets cold, impotent ash?’

This quotation is taken from Things Fall Apart page 51. Where are the men of valour in the Igbo land? Have the living fire beget cold impotent ash? Where are our politicians? No, not the weeping governors, the effeminate ones that will cry and declare  two days fasting and prayer amidst the loss of innocent lives!

I am not talking about those that will quickly issue a statement when a non-Igbo is allegedly killed by IPOB but keeps silent when his fellow brothers and sisters are massacred by non-Igbos, whether in uniform or not!
The man has died indeed! According to Soyinka, ‘The man died in him who in the face of tyranny and oppression kept silent!’

And I add, ‘The man has died in the face of any Igbo politician who kept quiet and wept when his kinsmen and woman were massacred in their homeland!’

‘The man has died in any of us who kept quiet and issue no statement just to please his pay master, the oligarchs, who has and had kept us down!’

‘“The man has really died in him who continue to wallow in the hypocritical patriotism of ‘ONE NIGERIA’ when his kindred and clan are being wiped out!

The man has really died!

It aches the heart and drains the marrow in what is happening in our land today!
My brothers and sisters "Let us not reason like cowards, If a man comes into my hut and defecates on the floor, what do I do? Do I shut my eyes? No! I take a stick and break his head. That is what a man does. (Okonkwo in Things Fall Apart p.52).

It is time for us to wield a stick and break the head of anyone that defecates in our house!

Ndeewonu!
